Lib Dems in Brighton.

Just want to say the following point is not party political - it could have been delegates from ANY party (just in case anybody accuses me of bias).

I was walking down the seafront today and...
was walking behind two smart looking people - a really tall blonde girl in her 20s and a man in his 40s/50s, both were smartly dressed with Lib Dem delegate passes round their necks. One of them (I didn't see which) just casually (in a way to try and disguise what they were doing) dropped some litter (a leaflet with the title WHO PAYS?). To my shame I didn't pick it up and ask 'is this yours?'. I was just surprised that delegates who probably enjoy ranting about government policy (especially on the environment) and society's ills in general could be so ill mannered not to walk to a litter bin (about 30 yards away). As far as I could see they didn't even have the excuse of one too many - they both looked completely sober. This makes me think of the case of that girl on the train who was prosecuted for putting her feet on the seat. Even people that do quite socially admirable things in one part of their lives can be utter gits in other parts. It also reminds me of that survey that the middle class are just as inclined to anti-social and law breaking behaviour. The difference is they are more likely to get off scott free and when they are prosecuted - the media are on their side. Life sucks doesn't it?

I'm going to take you to task on this again, Neil. Having one too many isn't an excuse for crime - it's an aggravating factor.

  3. Does not compute.

If you were walking behind them, how could you see they were wearing passes?

  4. I could see the yellow bands around their necks from behind. Then later as I stood alongside them as we crossed the road I could see their badges from the front. Hope that answers the question to your satisfaction.
