Rob Newman has it spot on with this post.
I worked in an office for 6 years that allowed smoking. I suffered all sorts of discomfort and chest infections as a result of my time there. I was young and in hindsight I should have left for another job, but why should my career be affected by such decisions?
Going to the pub for a drink or the pub quiz or for a gig means on most occasions having to accept that I will come back stinking of smoke, have to wash my clothes and cough my lungs up next morning. This is obviously not fair on non-smokers.
What a pleasure it is to agree with you on something, Neil!
ReplyDeleteI thought we agreed on quite a lot.
